Dustin Burkett is the founder of Proper Keeping, a restaurant finance and advisory firm based in Reno, Nevada. After more than 25 years working inside independent restaurants — from the dish pit to general management — he built Proper Keeping to help restaurant owners better understand the financial side of their businesses.

His work combines bookkeeping, financial review, and practical restaurant advisory with a firsthand understanding of labor, purchasing, inventory, menus, service, staff, and the day-to-day realities of running a restaurant. The goal is simple: accurate books, useful insight, and financial information owners can actually use to make decisions.

Dustin works with independent restaurants and hospitality businesses in Reno, Truckee, Lake Tahoe, and beyond.
